Throughout the year, the Rotary Club of Thurso raises funds for our Charity account so that we are able to help support local charities and good causes financially. In past years two main activities have dominate the fundraising activities of the Thurso Club; the Car Show and the 250 Club. Unfortunately the possibility of a Car Show in the near future is unlikely due to the lack of a good venue. Other events and activities, small and large scale, now take place throughout the Rotary year.
One of the most successful and annual fundraising efforts was the 'Bag Packing' in Safeways on the Sunday before the New Year but as Tesco's does not permit this type of event the fundraiser moved in 2008 to the Co-operative supermarket. In this event Rotary are helped by members of Inner Wheel, by Rotarians partners and last year by members of High School Interact Club. The monies raised are split between the Rotary, Inner Wheel and Interact Charity Funds.
